Marco Odermatt (SUI) has won the additional downhill at the Lauberhorn races, finishing over half a second ahead of the rest of the field. This marks his first World Cup victory in the downhill. Odermatt raced clear of his rivals at the start of the super-G and maintained his lead down to the finish. France’s Cyprien Sarrazin followed up on his good form in the training sessions, putting in a solid display to claim second place. Aleksander Aamodt Kilde had to settle for third, finishing 81 hundredths of a second behind the winner.

Franjo von Allmen from the Bernese Oberland, competing in his first Lauberhorn downhill in the World Cup, showed that he can keep up with the best. He finished a very respectable 14th, just one hundredth of a second behind two-time Lauberhorn winner Vincent Kriechmayr (AUT).
